 Abstract:  The collection consists of a negative photostat copy of a roster of troops engaged in the Battle of Maumee of the Lakes, November 4, 1791. Fought by a Battalion of the 2nd United States Infantry, and levies form Maine, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey, under Major General Arthur St. Clair. A photostatic copy of pp. 17-18 and 21-31, Record Group 94, National Archives and Records Administration; pp. 19-20 are lacking.

 Abstract:  Alfred Thomas Goodman (1845-1871) was a writer and historian who became secretary of the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of Goodman's writings on American historical topics, notes and transcriptions used in their preparation, and copies of letters, reports and journals collected by Goodman, including copies of the journals of Captain William Trent, from Logstown to Pickawillany, 1752, and of Captain Jonathan Heart, 1785; and papers relating to Josiah Harmar's expedition against the Miami Indians in 1790.

 Abstract:  Caleb Emerson was a Marietta, Ohio lawyer, journalist and abolitionist, and co-founder of the Marietta Branch of the Washington Benevolent Society. He married Mary Dana, the daughter of an early settler of Washington County. Their son, George Dana, was a captain in the 1st Michigan Engineers during the Civil War. Their son-in-law, William D. Bailey was Treasurer of Warren Township, Ohio. The collection consists of personal and business correspondence; legal papers, financial papers (receipts and accounts); historical, political, and biographical sketches; public letters and addresses; notes and articles on slavery, abolition, religion, and temperance; minutes and journals of the Washington Benevolent Society; civic records of Warren Township; and original poetry.
